I recently just ran a weekend test for a product using the battery emulation feature and am noticing that the time it takes to save the project is taking extremely long. The test took a total of 2d 21h 32m, and I had set samples to only 1000 sps. However, now after attempting to save the project and my data, I’ve been stuck saving the project for almost 2 hours.

(EDIT: It’s been 7 hours, and the memory usage seems slowly to be going down on task manager which is a good sign. Perhaps it’s the laptop I am using to run the test that’s dragging it out.)

(EDIT: Nearly a full day since saving, and it’s still loading…)

Is it normal for longer files to take this long to save? Wanted to see what I might be doing wrong.

Hi,

No, this is not normal behavior.
I make very long recordings (10 Aces, 3 channels, 1000sps for more than 6 weeks) and it saves without problems.

I can recommend that you always save the project before starting the recording. This will move the project to a destination selected by you when saving, otherwise the project is located in a temporary folder decided by the operating system.
A note is to NOT save on a network drive (like One Note or Drive or similar) as they might write protect folders while synchronizing.

Best regards,
Björn
