Short pulse current measurments

Hi!

In the following video (Measuring short current pulses with Otii Arc - YouTube) you explain that it is possible to use the Otii Arc to measure currents with pulses faster than the sampling period of the Arc.However, you do not explain how that is performed. For us in our current project we do not have he possibility of doing the same measurement as you do in the video, with longer pulses and compare to the shorter pulses.

We only have short pulses, so, how can we know if our measurement is correct or not? We perform measurements with the Otii Arc where the pulses are very short, and have to make an estimation or guess to how accurate they are. Your stated accuracy in the datasheet only differs based on measurement range, not the pulse length of the measured current, so how can we know how accurate our measurement of pulses that are <5-10 us in length?

Hi,

I understand your concern.
I will create an otii project and show the dynamic behavior for short, non repetitive pulses.
Hopefully, I have something ready during next week.

Best regards,
Björn

Hi,

We have published a description about the dynamic behavior and accuracy for short pulses on our blog.
