Hi everyone,
I am fairly new to energy profiling and recently started using the Otii Arc to measure the energy consumption of my BLE-enabled IoT sensor. I am trying to optimize battery life.., but I am a bit confused about interpreting the current spikes and idle periods in the Otii software.
This is my setup:
-
BLE sensor (custom board)
-
3V coin cell simulation through Otii Arc
-
Logging data via Otii software on Windows
The device wakes up every 5 minutes to transmit data and then returns to sleep mode. However, the sleep current seems higher than expected (around 100µA instead of ~10µA).
I have some questions:
-
How to identify if leakage current is from the BLE module or other components?
-
Any best practices for setting up triggers in Otii for long-term logging?
-
Is it possible to use scripting in Otii to automate tests?
When I searched on the forum for the solution related to my query, I got this thread https://forum.qoitech.com/t/powering-and-measuring-embedded-device-energy-consumption-with-otii-machine-learning-course-in-bangalore
but couldn’t get enough help. Appreciate any guidance or shared experiences!
Thanks
