Send non-ASCII characters via Otii UART

Hi,

I am using an Otii Arc to develop a UART-based interface.

Is it possible to send non-ASCII characters via the UART terminal built in to the Otii software?

Furthermore, if I script the device (I am planning to do this in the near future in Python anyway), will the output be automatically encoded as ASCII?

Thanks,
Adam

Hi Adam,

The Otii software does only support ASCII-data. For input it needs to have a delimiter (default LF, CR/LF). This applies to scripting as well.

Best regards,
Joakim

hey, I know it’s been a while for this topic. I wonder if Otii software gonna support non-ASCII data for UART log? for my application, I hope to have RX to show non-ASCII data. THX!

Hi,

Otii do not support non-ASCII data yet.
It is in our back logg but not in any release plan yet.
