Battery Profiling Tutorials

Are there any instructions, case studies or tutorials on battery profiling? I am interested in this feature but am unable to determine how to start a project to execute.

Thanks
Jamie

Hi Jamie,
there are some drafts in the pipe, but not in “publish state” yet. There is a short piece in the Help section, https://www.qoitech.com/help/otii/#battery_profiling .
Are you considering any niche aspect of battery profiling, or just a first intro ? If you provide some background (battery type, problem statement) we can pull out any relevant stuff we have when the guys are back in office tomorrow.
Great if you can do it here to share, if it is not shareable use our case system or support email instead.

Any updates here?

I’m also curious about this. The way I would expect the battery profiler to work using iterations, is the battery would be put through a standard DCD and curves would get generated from that. However, it the profiler doesn’t appear to allow for input of expected battery capacity nor max charge termination voltage. So how does a cell get profiled through its entire discharge profile then?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

The battery profiler discharges the battery in two discharge steps.
High discharge corresponds more or less to the active period of the Device Under Test (DUT) and the low discharge corresponds more or less to the sleep period.
For high and low discharge, you input the current/power/resistance and the time to keep this level.
Then the tool iterates between high discharge and low discharge, until either of the exit conditions occur. That is minimum Open Circuit Voltage, this is a calculated value, or cut off voltage, this is the measured battery voltage. You can also stop the discharge after a number of iterations if wanted.

We held a webinar some time ago, walking through the steps of Battery profiling.
You can find it here:

Let me know if you have any further questions regarding this,
