ERROR: Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator

Hi,

On my corporation laptop, I have access to Windows registers blocked. So when I want to run Otii 3x, I get:

“2023-04-11T13:46:03.349Z [error:renderer] Error: Error while obtaining machine id: Error: Command failed: %windir%\System32\REG.exe QUERY HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography /v MachineGuid
ERROR: Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator.”

Why Otii 3 needs to change anything in registers? Otii 2 doesn’t do this and works fine.

Is there any way to run Otii 3 in such circumstances?

Hi Marcin,

Welcome to the forum.
Otii 3 do not want to change anything in the registry, it only want to read.
Your network administrator apparently also have blocked reading in the registry.
We are looking into this.
